Planner/Estimator to join their team. This position is well-suited to a person who is ideally having
Planner/Estimator
Responsibilities
- To interpret customer engineering drawings and specifications
- To prepare accurate costs for materials, labour and services IFS ERP system to prepare customer quotations
- To respond to technical queries raised by customers and suppliers
- To generate estimates for bought out items, engineering costs etc
- To seek out new suppliers and sub-contractors to achieve the best 'value for money' and 'competitive lead times'
- To provide detailed manufacturing steps including tooling, bills of material and process routings
- To cover purchasing during busy periods
- To work with managers and supervisors to implement the company's policies and business objectives
- Carry out any other duties reasonable and within capability
The Company may amend these duties from time to time and may require you to undertake other duties as necessary to meet the needs of the business.
Requirements
- Commercial engineering experience required i.e. toolroom background (preferably in the Aerospace Industry)
- Effective oral and written communication required
- Must be PC literate and competent in Microsoft Office
- Able to work under own initiative
- Flexible, courteous, friendly and positive approach.
- Discretion, confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Eligible to work in UK.
Experience & Qualifications
- Must have worked as part of a team
- Experience of working to deadlines
- Recognised engineering trade qualification required
- Experience of using an ERP system an advantage
- Purchasing also an advantage
Benefits
Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4pm, Friday 7.30am to 1pm (37.5 hours)
