Due to high demand in and across Wigan. We are seeking a proactive and dedicated School Caretakers to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring our school facilities are maintained to the highest standards and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, painting, and general upkeep of school buildings and grounds.
• Oversee the cleanliness and safety of the school premises, including classrooms, offices, hallways, and outdoor areas.
• Manage and maintain the school's heating, lighting, and plumbing systems, and report any issues to relevant contractors.
• Assist with setting up and clearing away for school events and activities.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs or safety hazards.
• Ensure that all cleaning and maintenance supplies are stored correctly and are in good condition.
• Liaise with external contractors and service providers as necessary.
• Handle emergency repairs and respond to urgent maintenance requests in a timely manner.

Requirements

• An Enhanced Child DBS or willingness to undertake one (we can help with this).
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Comprehensive CV covering the last 10 years of education/employment history with any breaks explained.
