Who are we?
René House CIC, is a dynamic and award-winning social enterprise working at the forefront of our sector to change the lives of some of the most vulnerable adults and families across Nottingham, through our Housing and Support.
We are a small, growing, team who through our services provide a foundation for those who are facing homelessness and have a range of support needs.
What’s the role?
We are now looking to add an enthusiastic Fundraising & Communications Officer to help us really capture the essence of the work we do with residents and tell these stories in an emotive and engaging way. The perfect candidate will help us capture the imagination of businesses and individuals alike, to engage, invest and commit to supporting our journey.
What’s more, we have recently worked on overhauling our company branding and so the successful candidate would play a key role in shaping and implementing how this is rolled out.
During a normal week in this role, you will have the opportunity to:
· Support the Directors with the implementation of a new fundraising strategy, which will contribute to the development of corporate and individual giving as income streams.
· Assist in copywriting for communication materials, including advertisements, social media posts, and website content
· Play a key role in identifying and researching potential corporate partners and then supporting the pitching and proposal process to secure these leads as supporters of René House.
· Manage and maintain multiple relationships with existing corporate partners, ensuring they are engaged, informed, and appreciated through regular updates and reports.
· Devise creative campaigns both online and offline to increase donations to support our ongoing work
· Support social media management efforts by creating engaging posts and monitoring online presence to help René House build an audience of supporters
· Create and update regular communications in the form of website blogs and newsletter articles
· Establish and grow our supporter base through online and in-person channels
· Engage with our support staff and residents to capture some of the amazing stories of the journeys people have gone through
· Attend in-person networking events and represent René House to help increase brand awareness amongst other businesses and charities
· Participate in the creation of presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders, showcasing the impact of René House’s work and the importance of supporter contributions.
· Provide excellent customer care for our supporters, ensuring that they feel valued and appreciated.
· Produce regular reports on the activity and results of our fundraising efforts
Who are you?
You know you’re a great candidate for this role if:
· You are enthusiastic about playing an important role in helping and supporting people
· You have at least 1 year of experience working in a marketing/fundraising/communications/PR role in the Charity/Third, or Housing/Property sectors
· You have a proven track record increasing income through your marketing, fundraising, communications or PR efforts
· You have a high level of attention to detail in your written and spoken communication as this will be a key feature of the role.
· You can be social, engaging and can speak passionately to new people about things that matter to you
· You are a quick and adaptable learner
· You are a well organised and efficient operator
· You are an ideas person, not afraid to put your creative suggestions forward
· You have proven examples of planning and successfully executing successfully fundraising campaigns
· You are a creative and out-of-the box thinker full of unorthodox solutions to complex challenges
· You have examples to show that you are creative and confident with graphic design using tools like Canva, or the Adobe Creative Cloud apps (for example). This could include anything from social media posts, flyers to promote events we host, to wall art for our properties!
Please Note:
The wage stated is the full time equivalent. As this is a part-time role, this amount will be pro-rated.
The position is for 25 or 30 hours per week Monday to Friday to be worked over 4 or 5 days. These hours will be conducted on a hybrid basis but you will occasionally be required to attend our office just outside Nottingham City Centre. As part of this role you may be require to attend evening events.
As a smaller organisation with a light-hearted and vibrant environment, you will be working directly with the company directors to create and implement a fundraising and communications plan. Therefore, your ideas will be heard and will have a significant impact on decisions taken by the organisation and by extension, our residents.
