An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Royal Mail as a Workshop Administrator.
About the role
In the role of Fleet Administrator, you'll be responsible for coordinating and managing the fleet of vehicles for an organization. You'll oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of vehicles, ensuring their optimal utilization, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with relevant regulations. The Fleet Administrator works closely with various departments, suppliers, and drivers to ensure a smooth and efficient fleet operation.
An area of the role is Fleet Management, where you'll develop and implement fleet management policies, procedures, and strategies.
You''ll coordinate vehicle procurement, including selection, negotiation, and purchase or lease agreements.
You'll maintain accurate records of all vehicles, including registration, insurance, maintenance, and repairs. In addition to this you'll monitor and optimize fleet utilization, ensuring the right number and types of vehicles are available to meet operational needs.
You'll ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, such as vehicle licensing, inspections, and emissions standards.
You'll establish and enforce safety policies and procedures for drivers.
A further element of thsi position is maintenance and repairs where you'll oversee routine maintenance and repairs for the fleet and also coordinate with maintenance providers, ensuring timely and cost-effective service.
You'll maintain a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize breakdowns and extend vehicle lifespan and also manage warranty claims and work closely with suppliers to resolve vehicle issues promptly.
You'll maintain accurate and up-to-date fleet data, including vehicle inventory, maintenance logs, and driver records.
You'll generate regular reports on fleet performance, including fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and utilization rates.
You'll analyze data and identify trends or areas for improvement in order to provide recommendations to management based on data analysis.
You'll also be responsible for budgeting and cost control, where you'll develop and manage the fleet budget, including forecasting and tracking expenses.
You'll Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize fleet operations.
You'll negotiate favorable rates with suppliers and service providers.
You'll monitor fuel prices, analyze consumption patterns, and implement fuel-saving initiatives.
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 7am – 2.30pm
