Sennen Education are recruiting for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant on behalf of a fantastic primary school.
The successful TA will work with the school SENCo to undertake work, care and support programmes to facilitate learning of students within the Reception class.
As a Teaching Assistant, you must have a positive mind-set and will have strong engagement abilities to support the development of the students. An ideal candidate will need to be able to build rapport with the children.
Key skills
- To have a good knowledge and understanding of autism and social communication needs and appropriate strategies to support pupils with such needs.
- To have knowledge and understanding of social, emotional & mental health needs and cognitive needs, that affect children and young people’s development.
- Excellent listening skills
- An ability to build strong, trusting relationships
- To be resilient and able to take regular responsibility for agreed learning
- Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils in the learning activities
- To use positive and personalised behaviour management strategies

To join us and be successful in this Teaching Assistant role, you will need to:
- a minimum of six week's experience of supporting young people which you can evidence with references.
- Have an enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to pay for a new one)
- Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
- Provide a CV with 10 years of employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
