Job Posting for Support Worker at SMART CJS

Thank you for taking an interest in joining the team!

Founded in 1997, we are a charity that provides safe spaces for people who are facing or experiencing homelessness, are rough sleeping or have fallen on tough times. As times have changed, our services have adapted and grown, but we’ve always kept the people we support at the centre of all that we do.

We believe in diversity and inclusion. We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, including people with lived experience of homelessness.

With a strong culture and set of values that prioritise diversity and inclusivity, we strive to create a work environment that is both motivating and inclusive.

About the role

As a part of the Rogers Court support team, you will be a familiar, friendly face providing practical onsite support to our residents. The post holder will be proactive and motivated, with great interpersonal and communication skills. Someone with passion for supporting people with complex needs is a must, and you must be able to work in a trauma informed way. The post holder will need to be flexible in their approach and be comfortable to adapt as the needs of the organisation and role change.

About you

We are looking for someone who is comfortable and familiar with working in a small company or charity, understanding that capacity and resources are limited. As such, a ‘can do’ attitude and motivated approach is key.

There will often be multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities, so you will need to be well organised and with excellent communication skills. You will be able to record information using our database and ensure that records are up to date.

Our ideal candidate has understanding of trauma-informed approaches, as well as a solutions focused attitude, with the ability to think outside of the box!

We would love it if you have experience of supporting people with complex needs, but if you haven’t done this before, and are willing to learn, we would still love to hear from you.
