Your Role
The Active Travel Team at Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) works collaboratively with the Network Director for Active Travel to deliver a comprehensive programme of behaviour change activity that supports Greater Manchester's ambitious plans to achieve a step-change in the proportion of trips made by active travel modes.
As an Active Travel Officer, you will work with a wide range of stakeholders from funders and Local Authorities to community groups and suppliers to develop and deliver a range of projects and interventions aimed at improving access to walking, wheeling and cycling, that will make a difference to people’s lives
In this role, you will manage a variety of projects ensuring that project plans, activities and interventions are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

This role sits within the Active Travel Team, part of the wider successful Cycling and Walking Programme team at TfGM making a fundamental difference to how people move around Greater Manchester, both now and in the future.
What you’ll bring

You will bring a real enthusiasm for active travel as well as experience of developing and delivering interventions and projects to influence and change behaviours and a good understanding of the benefits of and barriers to active travel.
Experience in reporting on and monitoring the impact of live projects through the collection of data and case studies helping to build a case for future investment is key. You will also need good project management skills to ensure that projects are delivered to a high standard and on budget.
You’ll have the ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure goals can be achieved. Additionally, you will be able to listen and to communicate clearly and effectively to a range of audiences.
