The Faculty of Humanities is one of three faculties in the University of Manchester and consists of four Schools that offer an unprecedented range of innovative programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
The Faculty is looking to appoint a full-time PGCE Admissions Coordinator on a permanent basis.
Overall Purpose of the Job:
- To co-ordinate the delivery of all processes relating to PGCE admissions and compliance activities for Teacher Training (ITT) provision in the School of Education, Environment and Development (SEED) and to supervise the work of, train and provide advice to the SEED PGCE Admissions Team.
- To provide support and expert advice to School in meeting DfE compliance requirements, which may include attendance of audits.
- To support colleagues to embed locally and University-wide a culture of excellent service provision and continuous improvement, placing the student experience at the heart of what we do and work flexibly across organisational boundaries.
- To support senior colleagues in the delivery of offer holder days, information session days, interviews, tours, including open days working in partnership with the Student Marketing and Recruitment team.
The successful candidate should have relevant knowledge and experience, including Student Admissions policies and procedures; experience of working in a team environment within a large organisation, with the ability to be flexible and provide support for colleagues; and good digital literacy skills with experience of, or willingness to be trained in Admissions systems.
Furthermore, they must be prepared to undertake work outside regular office hours including weekends as necessary. The University operates arrangements to recognise this working pattern and to ensure an appropriate balance between working and non-working time.
