Key Responsibilities
As a Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in creating high:performance forged components for global markets. Your responsibilities include:
: Designing forgings, tools, and dies to meet precise customer specifications.
: Producing all necessary drawings and documentation to support the manufacturing process.
: Developing and maintaining process records to ensure smooth operations in forging.
: Recommending and implementing system modifications to optimise production efficiency.
: Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors for tooling and product development.
: Leading efforts to identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance quality and performance.
: Ensuring all projects meet strict customer expectations regarding quality and delivery timelines.
Candidate Requirements
To Be Successful In This Role, You Should Have
: A Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
: Extensive post:qualification experience in design, ideally within the aerospace, energy, defence, oil and gas, or heavy engineering sectors.
: Proven experience in metal forming, forging tool and die design, with solid knowledge of related processes.
: Expert:level proficiency in 3D CAD software, especially ProE/Creo, with experience in numerical analysis techniques (Forge2011 or similar).
: Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, and experience with software like MiniTab and Power BI would be advantageous.
: Excellent problem:solving skills, with the ability to quickly adapt, learn, and apply new skills in a fast:paced environment.
: Previous experience in a heavy engineering shop:floor environment is highly desirable.
: Strong organisational and communication skills, with the flexibility to travel locally and internationally as required by the business.
