We are looking for an Attendant to join the Department of Facilities at the House of Lords. This is a position where you will provide daily and direct support to Members, Members Staff and staff of the House of Lords. You will support in the booking and set up of rooms within the Parliamentary Estate, sort and deliver mail, respond to queries from customers and welcome guests at reception.
This is a position based on site at Parliament, where you will be expected to attend in person. This is an exciting opportunity for someone that enjoys working in a varied, customer-facing environment and enjoys resolving customer queries both independently and as part of a team.
Youll be accountable for
- Providing an efficient service in the Reception areas
- Greeting visitors and customers in a courteous and timely manner
- Acting as a Fire Evacuation Marshal and a First Aider (training is provided)
- Liaise with the Parliamentary Helpdesk to ensure jobs and requests are logged and actioned
- Delivery of mail items, packages, telephone messages and maintaining post system
- Allocating and coordinating room bookings, as well as setting up rooms prior to use

- Professionalism, Tact and Discretion- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to represent Property and OfficeServices appropriatelyto a wide range of people and organisations in various situations, and to handle difficult or sensitive situations with tact and discretion.
