Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team. The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing transport and warehouse operations ensuring efficient and effective processes. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a team.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities, including deliveries, stock receipt, inventory management, and materials handling
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as safety regulations
- Monitor and optimize warehouse layout and organization to maximize efficiency
- Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and streamline operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve business processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Train and develop Delivery and warehouse staff on proper procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise within the warehouse
Experience:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or transport environment
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including shipping/receiving, inventory management, and materials handling
- Familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics) operations is preferred
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS), such as AS400 or similar software
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on process improvement
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and possess mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance
