Vibrance has an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join our team in Billericay. You will join us on a full-time basis (37 hours a week) and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £23,177 per annum, plus benefits.

We offer a supported living environment where two adults with moderate learning difficulties are supported to learn new skills so they can reach their full potential. Our relaxed and welcoming atmosphere means that those supported are relaxed and happy.

The people we support are at the centre of everything we do at the service and are actively encouraged to get involved in all aspects of the service, from choosing the activities they take part in, to choosing the colour of the paint on the walls of the lounge.

You will promote independence, development, kindness, compassion and empathy, making sure you are able to adapt and evolve with the changing needs of the people who use the service.

Typical Shift Pattern

16:30-22:00 followed by a sleeping night and 07:00-16:30.

Skills and experience of our Support Worker:

• Basic understanding of IT skills
• Be comfortable with lone working
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Understand what it takes to support someone with a disability
• Ability to work imaginatively and flexibly with Users
• Good organisational and planning skills
• An understanding of the discrimination likely to be faced by people with learning and physical difficulties
• Positive attitude to community integration and a good team player
• Ability to react positively, sensibly and calmly in a crisis
• Ability to be pro-active and take responsibility for projects
