About the role

Have you got great communication skills and excellent knowledge of local government pension scheme legislation and systems?

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join us as a Training Officer in the Pensions Service based at One Angel Square in Northampton.

What will you be doing?

The Training Officer role sits within the Governance & Regulations team and it's responsible for delivering one-to-one and group training to new entrants and existing staff including training on legislation, business processes, workflow and administration/financial systems.

You will also be responsible for preparing training modules and work with managers and Team Leaders with reviewing and writing procedures in response to new Government guidance, new system releases and enhancements.

About you

You’ll have:

  • A degree or equivalent.
  • Advanced skills in using a pensions administration system.
  • The ability to deliver training sessions and presentations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to communicate at all levels and adapt communication style to make training accessible.
  • The ability to interpret and understand complex regulations and guidance to understand impacts on policies and procedures.
  • Advanced IT Skills including use of MS Office of equivalent.
  • The personal qualities and skills that promote open and constructive relations with colleagues, members and other stakeholders.
