Salary.com and Compdata Surveys & Consulting Have Merged Hero

We are beyond thrilled to announce that we’ve merged with Compdata Surveys & Consulting, one of the leading national compensation survey data and consulting firms in the U.S. With this merger, we are proud to join an elite class in the compensation data market, as one of the U.S.’ top three largest compensation data providers.

Excellent compensation data is important, but the ability to make good pay decisions with quick and accurate insights is critical. In today’s modern War for Talent, it is becoming increasingly essential for recruiters and HR/compensation professionals to have access to the most accurate market data available, so they can make the right salary offers to attract and retain the best talent.

At Salary.com, we are dedicated to ensuring that our data is not only the most accurate in the market, but also easy to access, with meaningful insights. Our mission is to provide our customers with the tools they need to be competitive in the modern War for Talent. That's why we are so excited about today’s announcement. We have observed Compdata emerge over the last 20 years into the formidable survey and consulting business it is today. We believe this will be an ideal fit; our two companies share a passionate founder’s story, ingrained in the customer-centricity of both of our businesses.

Introducing Compdata Surveys & Consulting

Compdata Surveys & Consulting has compiled one of the most comprehensive databases in the U.S. market and is a national data leader in many critical, fast-growth verticals, including healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, and higher education compensation, with the most local data breakouts of any leading survey provider. This expansive database and customized consulting services have enabled clients to successfully overcome the challenge to recruit, retain, and engage employees. For over 20 years, Compdata’s team of compensation and benefits experts have partnered with employers to design effective total reward programs, develop compensation philosophies and strategies, conduct competitive market reviews, analyze executive compensation, develop cost-effective benefit programs, and much more. Their expansive database and customized consulting services have enabled clients to successfully overcome the challenge to recruit, retain, and engage employees.

Better Together

Given all of this, together with Compdata, we see three clear opportunities ahead:

First, we will see a dramatically expanded data set. By merging our long-time survey business and beautiful technology with Compdata’s survey expertise, we look forward to offering the capability to view dramatically expanded compensation data, job descriptions, and award-winning analytics for 25,000 job titles across 14 industries and 100 countries worldwide. This merger will transform our combined business into one of the largest compensation data providers worldwide, and we look forward to continuing our tradition of excellent service, deep expertise, and the most comprehensive compensation solutions and consulting services in the market, together.

Second, we will see enhanced consulting services. Salary.com has hundreds of compensation professionals on its team and Compdata is well-known for their extensive range of consulting services, partnering with employers to design effective total reward programs, develop compensation philosophies and strategies, conduct competitive market reviews, analyze executive compensation, develop cost-effective benefit programs, and much more. With more than 50 years of combined experience across both businesses, consulting services will be better than ever.

Finally, this merger will lead to greater pricing specificity for our customers. With many new verticals and the most local data breakouts of any leading survey provider, we are perfectly positioned to extend our reach and capabilities. And, with Salary.com’s IPAS Global Salary Survey– a unique, single source of global data that allows for worldwide job pricing and the ability to compare jobs in various countries using the same methodology, participants, currency, and system – access to global data is easier than ever.

A Bright Future

Both Salary.com and Compdata are confident that our new affiliation will serve us all well. We look forward to another year of accelerated growth together and ongoing customer success. Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have questions about the merger, or what it means for you.
