Senior Finance Manager Job Summary: The Trimble Advanced Positioning division is looking for a Senior Finance Manager to collaborate closely with the Division Controller to provide best-in-class accounting and finance support to the division and its leadership. Responsibilities will include supporting several Trimble businesses within the division including market-leading satellite- and terrestrial-based location services as well as a start-up venture working directly with cellular communications industry to provide high-precision location services for mobile devices. Most of these businesses are at the leading edge of recurring revenue business models and drive significant annual recurring revenue. Ideal candidates will be critical thinkers that have excellent attention to detail, are good communicators, have solid experience in accounting, can create complex financial analyses and business models, and exercise strong independent business judgment and effective leadership in a dynamic organization. The position requires a self-starter who is not afraid to dig into the details, while also maintaining a clear focus on the big picture and strategic direction of the business. The position will have one direct report. Key Responsibilities: ● Provides general accounting, audit, and compliance support to ensure accurate and complete financial reporting, including strong working knowledge of journal entries, SOX controls, and an eye for ever-changing requirements and exceptions ● Leads the forecasting and performance reporting process for short-term and long-range planning cycles, working closely with division controller and division leadership, and provides meaningful variance analysis that tells the underlying story of the business. ● Develops automated reporting and data visualizations, dashboarding, and robotic process automations to drive efficiency, and improve insights, effectiveness and decision-making speed. ● Through in-depth analytical investigation, provides insights to the underlying business trends and drivers, while working with business partners to drive corrective action and forecast future results. ● Provides financial analysis and financial modeling, including acquisition modeling and purchase price justification, long term strategic business forecasting, and complex business opportunity investigation. ● Produces meaningful variance analysis that tells the underlying story of the business. ● Works with a high sense of urgency and manages multiple projects and deadlines concurrently Skills & Experience: ● “Roll up the sleeves” self-starter with the ability to process the details and think strategically. Ideal candidate is inquisitive, ambitious, driven and operates with high energy. ● Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting (MBA is a plus) ● Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role (preferably in a technology-related business), including experience serving as a strategic partner to segment-level business leaders ● Demonstrated business acumen – strong business analysis skills, judgment and an ability to influence decision makers. ● Strong understanding of GAAP, including accounting for subscription services, professional services engagements, hardware and software, and construction projects. ● Proven business modeling and forecasting skills required, including modeling of project-based revenues, recurring subscriptions, and carve-out impacts. ● Advanced to expert proficiency in Excel/Sheets including pivot tables and an ability to quickly ascertain accurate inferences from large data sets ● Experience with creating polished presentations in Google Slides ● Ability to interrogate, analyze, consolidate, and automate the reporting of information from enterprise reporting systems, including data remediation and creation of dashboards.
