Role Overview: As a Fabric Team Lead at Academy Design, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the fabric production process for our high-quality cabanas and daybeds. Your expertise in sewing techniques, blueprint interpretation, and fabric cutting will be essential in ensuring the precision and quality of our products. This leadership position offers the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated team and a diverse range of curtain fabric materials.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of fabricators in producing cabanas and daybeds, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards.
- Utilize sewing techniques such as double needle, single needle, and overlock to assemble fabric components accurately.
- Interpret technical blueprints and drawings to guide the fabrication process in line with design specifications.
- Coordinate fabric cutting based on drawing specs, minimizing material wastage while maintaining precision.
- Collaborate closely with different curtain fabric materials, understanding their characteristics and appropriate handling.
- Mentor team members in sewing, cutting, and blueprint reading skills, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet design and functional requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to the development of more efficient fabrication methods.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in fabric production, with expertise in sewing techniques and fabric cutting.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical blueprints and translating them into accurate fabrications.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of guiding and motivating teams.
- Familiarity with a variety of curtain fabric materials and their handling requirements.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team environment.
