We are looking for an experienced UX Designer who is passionate about user-centered design, interaction, and technology to join our User Experience team. After learning about our projects and processes, you will work with other UX team members, developers, and cross-functional teams as a key user experience practitioner to meet these teams' needs. Expect to participate in all stages of creating the best possible user experience for our products, including journey mapping, early prototyping, wireframing, interaction design, analysis, and presentation of design solutions. Along with working on the UX design of new products, you will also be making enhancements to existing products. Your work will be mentored by senior members of the Design team, and you should expect to grow in this role.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with product strategists and an established Development team to create the UX vision for your target product, feature, or enhancement
- Apply user interface design skills and principles to web application design
- Design engaging and intuitive user interfaces that solve for users' needs and drive measurable outcomes
- Create and iteratively refine designs through multiple cycles of product development
- Work with other project team members, engineers, visual designers, and Product Management teams to implement required features
- Present results to internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Experience in user interface design principles, interaction design guidelines, and user-centered design processes
- Familiarity with usability methodologies, industry standards and trends, platform standards, and software development processes
- Adaptable, flexible, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team environment
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and variable workloads
- Effective communicator: an excellent listener, speaker, and writer; English fluency required
- Excellent attention to detail while also seeing the big picture
- Familiarity with the role of UX in Agile development methodologies
- Desire to build and grow a career in user experience
- 2–5 years of experience as a UX designer; this is not an entry-level position
Additional skills and knowledge
- Familiarity with the possibilities of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Knowledge of one or more wireframing and prototyping tools
- Experience in financial services a plus—particularly trading or portfolio management
