What are the responsibilities and job description for the MEP Specialist position at AECOM?
AECOM is actively seeking for a MEP Specialist for our Orlando, FL office. The selected candidate will be assigned to oversee and support multiple new construction, renovation and remodeling projects in a K -12 environment. The selected candidates will be responsible to complete such projects and tasks from start to finish in support of the OCPS Building Program. Services will include project initiation, design oversight, procurement of vendors and services (one time vendors, term service vendors and continuing A/E & CMs) as well as the oversight of the design, construction and closeout
phase activities.
This position is expected to begin in February, 2022.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
High School diploma and 6 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects/clients are security sensitive.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in an office environment. Position requires often (25-50% of the workday) performance of keyboard/mouse operations.Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time. Routinely operate a computer and related equipment
Preferred Qualifications
Orange County School experience preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Working knowledge of industry standard construction management software (eBuilder) is preferred
Candidates with K-12 experience are highly preferred
Excellent verbal and written communications
Rarely (less than 10% of the workday) performing repetitive or fine hand movements and lifting less than twenty-five pounds.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Performs a variety of tasks in support of the engineering staff.
- Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining project documentation.
- General understanding of procedures, company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Viewed as competent in all areas. Highest non-supervisory position.
- May oversee work of junior-level technicians. Viewed as competent in all areas.
