Role:
Our Compliance Officer ensures the Credit Union’s regulatory compliance in all areas, as well as compliance with State & Federal laws and regulations. He/She is responsible for coordinating with key management and staff to develop policies and procedures; assist and facilitate company-wide risk assessments; provide staff training and education; investigate possible compliance violations; develop, monitor, and report on corrective action plans. He/She will analyze new and pending compliance requirements affecting the Credit Union’s practices and administers & maintains the credit union’s vendor management program.
What you will be doing:
- Review, assess, develop, revise, and ensure the adequacy of programs, policies, and procedures designed to safeguard Credit Union assets and maintain regulatory compliance. Ensures policies and procedures are appropriately disseminated.
- Stay informed of new and pending laws and developments related to compliance issues, analyzes requirements, appropriately revises policies and procedures, and ensures communication and implementation of regulatory changes.
- Develop, direct, and implement a compliance program and schedule to review internal Credit Union areas for compliance. Investigates complaints.
- Provide employee training on compliance related issues and policy changes. Develops a library of compliance resources for employee use.
- Compile and issue reports detailing conclusions of audits and compliance analysis, reports violations as appropriate, provides recommendations for improvement, and follows up to ensure compliance.
- Maintain records and documentation of compliance activities, complaints, investigations, and outcomes. Analyzes, prepares, and files appropriate reports with regulatory agencies.
- Exercise duties with familiarity with HMDA regulations and filing of HMDA LAR.
- Exercise duties with familiarity with vendor management due diligence.
What you will bring along:
- Certification in Compliance.
- Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.
- (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., certified compliance officer in lieu of a degree).
