What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farm Manager position at Ag Jobs?
The Farm Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the Augusta Health Farm, including, but not limited to: seed starting, planting, performing farm maintenance, harvesting, post-harvest processing, delivering crops and maintaining records. The Farm Manager will supervise Farm Team members, coordinate community benefit programming and weekly point of sale markets and will serve as an ambassador of the Augusta Health Farm.
Formal Education:
High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience:
Three-five seasons of farm production experience and a high-level understanding of agriculture.

- Demonstrated ability to work on a collegial level with all Augusta Health team members, community organization, patients, volunteers and community members
- Ability to implement projects and programs while maintaining control of a budget
- Ability to anticipate, respond and adapt to evolving situations, for example, weather forecasts, community needs and budget adjustments
- Possesses strong working knowledge of organic and sustainable agriculture concepts; committed to building a sustainable food system and a healthier food culture in our region
- Passionate about farm design and maintenance and a strong interest in small-scale, intensive, organic vegetable farming
- Demonstrates critical thinking, independent judgement and business acumen needed to work independently, lead staff and volunteers, and facilitate change
- Strategic leadership and operational management skills
