Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transports clients to and from all appointments in a timely and safe manner in a company vehicle
• Assists passengers requiring aid (including physically developmentally disabled individuals, elderly individuals, individuals with hearing and sight impairments, etc.)
• Assisting with boarding and departing from the vehicle, assisting with packages, securing wheelchairs
• Provide friendly and courteous service to clients and other members of the public.
• Accurately represents the philosophies and policies of Connections CSP, Inc
• Works with the program management staff and Transportation Coordinator to coordinate off-site medical appointment scheduling and transportation
• Ensures that follow-up appointments, including laboratory tests, x-rays, and consultations, are verified prior to performing route
• Assuring that all seat belts are secured. Informing all passengers that seatbelts must be worn during the entire trip
• Communicates with the Transportation Coordinator or designee the scheduling of timely vehicle maintenance and repair for the vehicle

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience with client transportation
• Knowledge of Delaware roads

???????Knowledge, skill, and abilities skills:

• Must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Ability to produce a safe MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) furnished by the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles)
• Ability to provide safe transportation to appointments, ensure completion of visits and return transportation
• Compassion, patience, punctuality, and dependability.
• Ability to communicate with staff and clients to ensure that needs are met
• Routinely document pre-trip and post-trip inspections as well as route logs
• Must be able to submit to pre-employment drug test
• Tuberculosis screening, employment eligibility, and background check
• Ability to maintain confidentiality; work independently and with the team; exercise judgment, tact, and diplomacy
• Immediately report incidences, accidents, or concerns to the Transportation Coordinator or Department Manager
• Good interpersonal and written communication skills
• Commitment to the treatment philosophies and policies of the agency
