What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Technician position at Associated Terminals?
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Troubleshoot and administer solutions to work orders in a Windows environment
- Provide computer and phone support
- Support applications such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, SQL, and CDS
- Work from a ticket system to complete work orders promptly
- Set-up and install peripherals including but not limited to cell phones, PC’s, printers, laptops, monitors/projector units, copiers in person, or as an instructor by phone
- Assist with physical PC workstation moves (PC’s, monitors, phones, etc.)
- Manage and complete assigned issues and projects in a timely manner
- Provide orientation to new users of existing technology
- Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software, and resources
- Train staff about potential uses of existing technology
- Provide individual training and support on request
- Work schedule rotation for periodic on-call and after-hours support
- Travel to field operations as required
- Travel via crew boat to floating cranes and tug boats on the Mississippi River
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must have 2-4 years experience in an IT or computer-related field
2 years experience with Windows OS (XP, 7) and Microsoft Office applications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology- Computer Network Systems or related field
- CompTIA A or Network (Preferred)
SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to prioritize and adhere to stringent deadlines
- Ability to articulate and troubleshoot issues over the phone and in-person
- Working knowledge of basic hardware, including laptops, desktops, and printers
