The Manager, Compliance is responsible for supporting the oversight of the US Compliance & Ethics program. The Manager, Compliance will review and execute healthcare professional-related agreements, review commercial sponsorships, maintain the company’s US Compliance & Ethics policies, support the delivery of employee training, and participate in monitoring employees’ adherence to company policies as well as applicable Federal and State laws. The Manager, Compliance reports to the Director, US Region Compliance Officer.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Support the company’s healthcare professional engagement system, including oversight of contract drafting, FMV, exclusions check, submission form review, and validation processes.
Support oversight of commercial sponsorships, including engagement with relevant stakeholders, review of pertinent documentation in light of relevant laws, industry codes, and best practices, and documentation review and retention.
Develop and deliver live and virtual training related to compliance-related requirements, including new hire, expense reporting, healthcare professional engagement, commercial sponsorship, and other policies and processes as needed.
Assist in the development of compliance-related guides and instructional documents.
Manage tracking for compliance-related outreach, including live and virtual trainings, investigations, and documented coaching.
Review speaker bureau reports related to business rule compliance, and work with region compliance officer and business stakeholders to develop remediation plans, as needed.
Act as secretary for relevant compliance committee meetings.
Conduct audits of expense reports, speaker programs, and other promotional activities to ensure policies and SOPs are adhered to.
Participate in occasional field rides, speaker program observations, and other field monitoring activities.
Assist in the investigation of compliance-related reports made via the Integrity Hotline, direct employee reports, or issues identified by Compliance & Ethics.
Alert supervising manager of potential policy deviations encountered during audits and assessments, and support any necessary remediation.
Requirements
Four or more years of compliance experience in a regulated industry, with a strong preference for pharmaceutical, medical device or other life sciences organizations. Experience as a contract manager in the relevant fields is preferred.
Strong knowledge of current applicable regulations and industry standards applicable to the pharmaceutical industry.
Ability to handle multiple projects and maintain a high degree of efficiency and accuracy.
Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
The ability to act independently and to take initiative with minimal supervision from manager.
Strong interpersonal, teamwork, organizational and workload planning skills.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
