What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team Lead position at Benedictine?
The Meaningful Day Team Lead functions independently within the constraints of organization policy and procedures to assure that persons supported receive the highest quality services possible and provides leadership to assigned staff. The team lead is responsible for supervising, training, managing, and motivating staff to provide quality service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Consistently report to work on time as scheduled, prepared to perform assigned duties and responsibilities during entire scheduled work period/shift.
- Provide direction, training, and daily support to staff.
- Develop and monitor work schedules for staff.
- Hire staff as needed to meet staffing goals.
- Oversee the onboarding and training of newly hired staff.
- As needed, conduct corrective action meetings and/or conduct disciplinary action meetings with corresponding documentation.
- Complete 90 day evaluations for new hires and annual performance evaluations for all direct report staff.
- Schedule and monitor staff required trainings to ensure compliance.
- Review and approve timecards or online time submissions and submit to Finance in accordance with payroll deadlines.
- Coordinate transportation services and monitor vehicle usage and mileage documentation.
- Monitor petty cash account and submit reimbursement form to Finance as needed.
- Ensure progress documentation for each person supported via Therap and/or other approved forms.
- Monitor daily attendance and complete billable hours forms; submit to Vocational Administrative Assistant bi-monthly.
- Monitor and approve staff POV mileage logs.
- Provide direct support during staff vacancies.
- Provide crisis intervention services, as needed and complete appropriate incident reports in a timely fashion per direction of Benedictine administration.
- Familiarize and utilize technology to support communication and therapeutic needs.
- Ensure persons supported meaningful activities are acknowledged through Benedictine publications.
- Utilize strategies that promote skill development, self-sufficiency and independence while ensuring health and safety.
- Work in cooperation with community job developer.
- Support and promote advocacy groups, activities and training.
- The Meaningful Day Services Team Lead may, depending on programmatic needs:
- Supervise Case Coordinators, Job Developer, DORS program and/or Discovery Resource Specialist.
- Serve as point person for program specific duties such as: therapy supports, fleet vehicle coordination, and/or employment services.
- Oversee the on-campus support sites (currently Milestones Courtyard and Employment Resource Center)
- Develop Meaningful Day programming resources for both in-person and virtual supports.
Job Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Human Services preferred; High School Diploma and/or GED required in addition to two (2) years of relevant experience in lieu of Associate Degree.
- Three years relevant experience required supporting adults with developmental disabilities.
- Previous management experience preferred
- Knowledge of Day Habilitation, Job Development, DDA and DORS service definitions required
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be organized and easily adaptable to changing duties and work settings.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen; must pass pre-employment screenings and criminal background checks through CJIS as stated in Family Law Article 5-56.1
- Must have Med Tech certification (or eligibility to be certified as a Med Tech).
- Some flexibility with work hours is required.
