What are the responsibilities and job description for the PR Coordinator position at Bozell?
The public relations coordinator is responsible for assisting the PR, social and content teams in developing public relations plans, including writing, conducting research, preparing materials, maintaining contacts and responding to inquiries. This position requires strong writing skills, excellent communications skills, and a good working knowledge of publicity and public relations skill sets. The abilities to prioritize and think strategically are essential to thriving in this position. The position will assist in developing and executing effective strategies and tactics for agency and client campaigns and may involve direct communication with clients.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with clients and internal teams to plan and develop PR strategies and activations
- Manage and execute daily PR requests and questions
- Advise and execute on all PR tactics
- Conduct research to identify and prioritize PR opportunities
- Craft, edit, proof and distribute media alerts, press releases and feature stories to press contacts
- Pitch the media on potential earned media opportunities
- Monitor and report on all media coverage
- Assist in the development of media kits
- Provide media training, counseling and coaching to clients as needed
- Prepare crisis communications plans
- Create PR presentations for clients in collaboration with the account team
- Ensure all PR efforts deliver upon the assigned scope
- Advise Bozell staff and clients on the latest PR trends and educate/implement as appropriate
- Seek opportunities to learn and grow by continually providing point-of-views
- Represent Bozell at industry events
- Represent the agency and/or clients on community, professional industry and service initiatives
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience
- Social media, content, PR or communications experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
- Agency experience is preferred
- APR accreditation not required but would be a bonus
