What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mgr, Ecommerce position at Bunzl?
The eCommerce Manager is responsible for leading the web development, maintenance, support team and the architecture and ongoing development related to the Bunzl Processor Division (BPD) eCommerce website, and the content management for such website and PIM. The manager is responsible for the stability, reliability, and advancement of both back end and front-end of the website with responsibility in growing BPD’s eCommerce sales and profit.
Responsibilities:
- Create, document, communicate/distribute, enforce and maintain BPD’s documented best practices with respect to Ecommerce
- Manage the hiring, training, development and performance of assigned staff
- Lead, support and manage operational aspects of BPD’s eCom applications that need enhancement, as well as leading multiple eCommerce projects to deliver new functionality, improved design, and facilitate user experience
- Participate in the planning and prioritization of projects to ensure project delivers in a timely matter; stay actively involved in initiating, planning, executing, tracking, monitoring, and closing projects
- Review and execute project work plans and supporting documentation and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
- Lead the development of new functionality to expand market share
- Identify and document new web requirements and enhancements to serve new purposes, improve the design, and facilitate user experience
- Serve as the liaison between business and information technology discussions by leading internal/external meetings; and coordinate effectively within multiple teams
- Collaborate with other IT staff in developing and testing business continuity
- Communicate status of assigned projects
- Collaborate effectively and persuasively with internal business leaders as well as clients, or any other project stakeholders
- Effectively prioritize and re-prioritize, make decisions, and drive projects to closure on time and within budget
- Stay up to date on professional knowledge
- Outside vendors managed effectively (deadlines met, budget not exceeded, quality of delivered work high, etc.)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, eCommerce or Computer Science preferred
- 5 years of experience in Ecom development and operations preferred
- Strong Understanding of distribution and logistics services a plus
- Effectively communicate both orally and in written form with management, internal and external customers.
- Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
