Vendor Risk Analyst
The Vendor Risk Analyst facilitates and supports the Vendor Risk Management (VRM) program to mitigate against vendor risks, which could negatively impact the organization. This individual also facilitates initial and periodic ongoing due diligence reviews of vendors through the collection and analysis of vendor documentation, use of third-party tools, and independent research.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Initiates and facilitates vendor screening processes and performs initial and periodic due diligence reviews in a timely fashion as prescribed by company policy and the VRM program
- Provides risk assessment results and recommendations regarding vendor acquisition, based on the analysis and vendor risk rating, to the Legal team
- Performs periodic re-assessment of vendors based on risk rating and criticality
- Works directly with internal vendor relationship owners to ensure vendors provide appropriate documentation and if follow-up activities are required, ensures remediation occurs in a timely manner
- Maintains rigorous risk evaluation portfolio on each vendor including supporting documentation
- Coordinates with management and key stakeholders regarding vendor risk and performance
- Disseminates vendor risk analysis to internal customers at multiple levels of the organization
- Documents internal risk acceptance as exceptions and maintains appropriate level of approvals
- Monitors existing vendors for changes to their environment or their external security posture, including breach notifications
- Maintains metrics for internal reporting requirements
- Develops a working knowledge of assigned vendor relationships under the purview of the VRM
- Maintains a thorough understanding of relevant internal policies and external regulatory requirements applicable to the VRM
- Ensure vendor due diligence questionnaires are appropriate for each engagement
- Reports on and escalates risk issues to the GRC Manager
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Security, Computer Science, Auditing, or Information Technology preferred or 2 years relevant work experience
- Applicable industry certifications (e.g., RIMS-CRMP, CTPRP, CTPRA, etc.) beneficial
- Experience with industry standards (e.g., SOX, PCI, GLBA, NIST, CRPA, etc.) beneficial
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to audiences of various technical levels across the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail in documenting and performing analysis
- Must present strong customer service skill to all internal and external parties
- Ability to travel up to 10%
