What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groomer position at Camp Schultz?
Camp Schultz is a very close knit, family owned business that creates an environment where pets want to vacation! We provide a wide range of services ranging from overnight boarding, long-term stays, socializing with pet to pet interactions and activities, as well as daycare and grooming. We pride ourselves with being a very down to earth and community based company and want any addition to our team to feel comfortable and right at home.
Our grooming position is a contract based position and is a percentage model. Dependent on the speed of the groomer and ability to execute quality grooms in a timely manner, this position has a potential to provide a comfortable financial income. We have an existing client base that would allow grooming to resume immediately upon hire.
Main job requirements:
- The ability to follow safe and quality guidelines to ensure the safety of both pet and groomer
- Perform common breed hairstyles and able to customize grooms based on client requests in a professional manner
- Ability to execute exceptional customer service as well as provide honest and caring consultations regarding client requests and specially customized grooms such as large dog breeds and matted pets
- Must be willing to bathe and blow-dry own hair cuts as well as ability to perform quality bath services for short and double coated pets
- Able to control large breed dogs as well as able to lift up to 45 lbs. comfortably
- Be open to work dates leading up to holidays and after. Actual grooming will not be necessary on the holidays themselves, but time off will need to be arranged according to this expectation.
- Work days are expected to start at 8:00am and once the grooms are finished for the day it is not required for the groomer to stay. This can be thought of an additional incentive to execute services in a timely manner. The time finished does not affect the pay for the day.
- Ideal scheduling is Tues-Sat, but we are flexible within reason
- All major equipment is provided such as: Med/High velocity blow dryer, bathing tub, all necessary shampoos catering to various services, disposables (i.e. q-tips, cotton balls, etc), grooming table with adjustable height and noose attachment, various finishing sprays, ear cleaner, and tooth brushes and tooth paste. All additional equipment will need to be brought by the professional.
