What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabricator position at Cardinal?
POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is primarily responsible for: Repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining production machinery; Performing various tasks required for equipment layout, installation and commissioning; Fabrication and Layout of machine components.
SCHEDULE
Monday - Friday 5:45 AM to 2:15 PM - some scheduled overtime on weekdays and weekends
PAY
$23.50/hr. - $30.00/hr. DOE
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ability to competently cut and weld steel, stainless steel and aluminum using Oxy-Acetylene, Plasma cutter/ GMAW, GTAW, SMAW
- Ability to competently use fabrication tools to include but not limited to: manual mill, manual lathe, drill press, saws, shear, brake, tap/die, etc.
- Ability to layout and fabricate machine components from either a sample piece or drawings
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and accurately perform layouts within specified tolerances
- Ability to perform higher level math: Convert decimal to fraction and Imperial to Metric; Determine halves/thirds/quarters; Calculate surface areas, volumes, slopes; etc.
- Must have good working knowledge and experience using measuring devices to include but not limited to: calipers, micrometers, tape measure, multi-meter, etc.
- Effectively and accurately document all work performed
- Identify needed and/or consumed parts and materials, then research and order them as required
- Must be able to operate a computer using basic software applications such as e-mail, Word, Excel, and CMMS.
- Work with other employees in a team atmosphere to meet deadlines
- Flexible schedule to meet production needs working up to 12 hour shifts
- Read, write, and communicate verbally with good effect in English
- Operate Industrial Powered Equipment to include but not limited to: Forklift, Man Lift, overhead crane, etc.
- Assist in other areas of the plant as needed
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Understanding of AutoCad and/or other design programs is a plus
- Understanding of surveying equipment is a plus
REQUIREMENTS
- Adhere to company policies, rules, and regulations outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Ability to SAFELY maneuver heavy materials and parts with and without material handling equipment
- Use supplied tools and equipment to repair/install equipment in a SAFE manner
- Maintain work area(s) in a clean and orderly fashion and leave work areas clean at the end of each work day
- Adhere to all Safety Rules to include but not limited to: PPE, Practices, and Procedures
