The Prenatal RN is responsible for educating, following, and co-managing prenatal care for patients receiving their prenatal care at Chapa-De. To uphold Chapa De IHS’ mission to provide the highest level of continuously improving quality medical, dental, and behavioral care, health education and preventive services possible to the uninsured and underserved and native population. This role is specific to addressing the needs of pregnant and postpartum women.
Prenatal RN
Conduct pre-visit OB intake appointments with all new OB patients, gathering information necessary for providers to begin OB care and identifying adequate referrals to Dental, BH and nutrition on intake and notifying cpsp coordinator.- Review, discuss, and obtain signature for Chapa-De OB contract and California state screening consent.
- Identify and send MFM referral if needed at intake or by provider guidance. Assess and track routine prenatal care for high-risk patients that are co-managed by MFM.
- Identify and send DM in pregnancy referrals on intake or by provider guidance.
- Order prenatal screening tests based on standing orders.
- Coordinate and lead the monthly case Management meetings with Chapa-De and Camellia Women’s Health
- Serve as the main point of contact and coordinator between Chapa-De OB providers, Camellia Women’s Health and delivering Labor and Delivery Department.
Required Experience:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- RN degree
- 2 years clinical experience or experience in health education.
- Previous OB Experience and/or NST experience.
- Previous Primary Care Clinic experience.
- Sensitive to the health and cultural needs of Native Americans and vulnerable populations.
- Ability to work independently, when needed and collaboratively with other members of the health care team.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computers, information systems and experience working in an Electronic Health Record (EHR) environment.
- Current CPR or BLS Certificate.
- Current and in good standing; CDL, vehicle insurance, and DMV printout.
** Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID - 19 vaccine before date of hire to be considered for employment. This includes the booster shot, when eligible.
