What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bar Manager position at Circa 1886?
Circa 1886 regularly ranks among the finest restaurants in downtown Charleston and we are looking for a Bar Manager to join our team. The right candidate for this position will be well versed in bar operations; have experience creating signature specialty cocktails; be professional, friendly, and well spoken; and be committed to maintaining our standard of excellence.
Circa 1886 is closed on Sundays, Wednesdays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Benefits for full time employees include medical, dental, vision and supplemental insurance coverage after 60 days, holiday pay after 90 days and paid vacation and sick time after the first year. Free parking is available.
Responsibilities:
- Create all specialty cocktails (recipes, pricing, presentation, etc.) for seasonal cocktail lists
- Keep bar organized and clean
- Stock bar with all ingredients for cocktails and wines
- Manage inventory for beer, liquor, mixers, beverages, etc. including placing orders
- Meet with representatives from local companies to explore beverage options
- Work efficiently and consistently in providing service for a 15-seat bar in addition to providing drinks for dining room patrons
- Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding bar specials, new products, and other needs
Requirements:
- Accomplished mixologist with a thorough knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wines, and other beverages
- Knowledgeable about fine dining food and wine service
- Excellent multitasking ability and strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with Aloha Point of Sale System
- Must have full availability including weeknights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, frequently lift up to 40 pounds and be able to stand for up to 9 hours per shift
- Must maintain personal hygiene in accordance with the Health Department Standards for Food Service Employees
- Must have the ability to work as a team with a fluid result
