Founded in 1996, CMES, Inc. is a rapidly growing, privately held Georgia-based civil construction company. We are seeking to add a Concrete Foreman to our team to support our continued rapid growth within the construction industry. This role is a field-based position, located in Atlanta, Georgia, and will support the project management needs in the field. This position will work at multiple work site locations throughout the Greater Metro Atlanta, Area.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

•         The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities necessary to meet the minimum job requirements of this position.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Responsibilities Include:

•         Complete concrete and highway/road projects to job specifications and within the assigned time and budget as assigned by Superintendent.

•         Conduct the concrete or other related construction duties assigned per established procedures. These duties include but are not inclusive of: supervising, concrete finish work, laying/removing forms, laying rebar for concrete pour, staking. The incumbent is expected to meet quality standards by adherence to the established procedures. 

•         Supervise all aspects of crews, manage suppliers, and subcontractors.  Assure project productivity expectations are met. 

•         Keep assigned vehicles clean and in good repair DAILY. Turn in vehicle review paperwork and schedule for regularly scheduled maintenance as necessary-notifying Superintendent of scheduled maintenance. 

 
QUALIFICATIONS

•         Minimum of five (3) years of experience of progressive responsibility on similar construction projects.
•         High School Diploma or Equivalent
•         Experience on large highway, bridge/structures, paving, and/or utility relocation projects as a contractor
•         Reads and follows road construction plans, materials lists and guidelines, and applies necessary timelines.
•         Conducts regular tailgate safety meetings.
•         Fulfills all regular and advanced installation/construction duties, including project layout, and completes required paperwork in a timely manner.
•         Organizes, supervises, leads and trains employees to complete projects within established guidelines and time frames.
•         Enforces all company safety policies and procedures.
•         Enforces all client-required safety policies and procedures.
•         Complies with all company policies and procedures and safety requirements, including crew member discipline and documentation.
•         Assign and direct work.
•         Experience in road construction
•         3 years project responsibility in heavy civil construction, underground utility installation for City, County, Private or DOT construction projects
•         Knowledge of heavy equipment operations
•         Able to manage, communicate and enforce production goals and schedules with crews
•         Knowledgeable of OSHA Safety Regulations
•         Supervisory experience is a MUST

•         Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one within job crews.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may lift and/or move heavy equipment up to 50 pounds. This position requires manual dexterity and strength in arms and feet to manipulate equipment controls, tools and other items used to make adjustments and / or maintenance. Will use hands, arms, back and shoulders in handling, installing, positioning, and moving items, and manipulating other objects. Employee could be in a standing, bending, kneeling or sitting position for long periods of time. This position could require the ability to operate a manual transmission and clutch in any equipment being loaded or unloaded. The position requires considerable bending, twisting, reaching, pushing and pulling. Other tasks can require stooping, bending, squatting, stretching, driving. The employee will be regularly required to stand, talk and/or hear. The employee is required to use hands to type and write on a tablet.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work in and around a highway or roadside construction area and heavy equipment. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving traffic and mechanical parts and equipment. Employee will be exposed to dust and fumes from cleaners, gasoline, diesel and exhaust. Most work will be performed in a roadside / highway setting and employee will be exposed to ongoing traffic while working. Employee will work outdoors, and will be exposed to the weather, including extremes in heat and cold and rain.
