What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager - Projects position at Cognizant?
- Coordinate and track deliverables, dependencies and risks across different teams
- Effectively communicate across multiple programs and follow up diligently ensuring nothing drops in the cracks
- Experience running working sessions involving multiple solution leads from different programs
- Prepare presentations to leadership team
- Responsible for collaborating with the Product stakeholders on project planning, sprint and release planning etc.
- Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
- Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution
- Empower the team to self-organize
- Collaborate with other teams and release Management to develop enterprise release plans
- Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments
- Establish a sense of urgency to complete tasks in a timely, cost-effective manner with quality
- Ensure the teams are practicing agile principles
- Identify and remove impediments, prevent distractions
Required skillset:
- Bachelor's Degree and/or 7 years equivalent work experience
- 5 years of project leadership experience
- 2 years of experience with one or more agile methods (preferred)
- Understanding of a variety software development methodologies, values, and procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in Telecom domain (OSS/ BSS) will be a plus
- Experience with Certification Driven Development (CDD) will be a plus
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Ability to negotiate effectively with peers around priority and design.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Understanding of agile principles
