Job Title: Stocker/Grocery Clerk/Store Associate
Location: Fort Irwin Base
Shift: Days and Nights Available
Reports to: Project Manager

Part-time and Full-time positions available Hours can vary depending on your schedule

Role and Responsibilities:
The Stocker/Grocery Clerk/Store Associate works under the direction of the Project Manager and is responsible for preparing the store for the next day. This essential role requires the ability to obtain and maintain access to the military base. The primary responsibilities of the Commissary Stocker include stocking, organizing, and ensuring that all delivered items are efficiently placed on the sales floor.
  • Consolidate and organize pallets received from the delivery truck.
  • Safely transport products from the warehouse to the sales floor.
  • Efficiently drop and stage products in their designated aisles and proper locations.
  • Replenish shelves, end caps, and displays with missing products to ensure a well-stocked store.
  • Rotate products on the shelves to maintain product freshness and appearance.
  • Check for and remove expired merchandise from shelves to maintain product quality.
  • Place items on shelves according to store layout and organization standards.
  • Unload products from delivery trucks with care and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Strictly observe the company's safety rules and guidelines to promote a secure workplace.
  • Familiarize yourself with the department's products to provide better customer assistance.
  • Comply with all Federal, State, and Local regulatory standards and procedures relevant to the role.
  • Ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE) is available, in good condition, and utilized for each task.
  • Verify that equipment is in safe operating condition and that all safety measures are in place.
  • Immediately report accidents, incidents, or near misses to the Project Manager.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager to support store operations.
Key Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to efficiently organize and manage inventory, ensuring products are placed in the correct locations.
  • Thoroughly check for expired merchandise and maintain the overall appearance of the sales floor.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy boxes and stock for extended periods during evening and night shifts.
  • Effectively prioritize tasks to meet stocking and store preparation deadlines.
  • Collaborate with coworkers to achieve efficient stocking and store maintenance.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature conditions and adapt to changing tasks as needed.
  • Proficiency in stocking shelves, end caps, and displays with products, and ensuring inventory accuracy.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma and/or GED.
  • Ability to work directly with disabled individuals.
Physical Demands:
The Stocker/Grocery Clerk/Store Associate position is a physically demanding position. While preforming the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The incumbent is frequently required to use to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls. The incumbent must spend the entire time at work standing, walking, lifting heavy objects, operating medium- weight equipment. The incumbent is required to do a great deal of stretching and bending, often in awkward positions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions. The incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

Environmental Demands:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations will be made. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily working within an office environment and will occasionally be required to visit and audit other locations and facilities. Occasionally exposed to outside weather while traveling between locations. Noise is typical of a busy office environment.
