Kitchen helpers perform various duties like cleaning, washing utensils, maintenance, preparation, and stocking duties in the kitchen of a restaurant, home, hospitals, school, and nursing homes. They help washing the dishes, preparing meal ingredients, and cleaning the kitchen. Their duties include retrieving items from the refrigerator, freezer, and stockroom, measuring ingredients as per instruction given in the cookbook, remove leftovers from plates, bowls, and glasses. They have to be hardworking and must ensure all work areas are properly sanitized. To remain successful in this field, they should have great proper food handling procedures and remove spoiled items from the refrigerator, freezer, and stockroom. They should be able to follow all food health and safety regulations and display exceptional organizational skills. They must ensure timely completion of all kitchen duties.
