What are the responsibilities and job description for the SQL Server DBA - Contractor position at EY?
We currently have a contract opportunity for a SQL Server DBA with experience with Denodo.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including database backups, patching, and performance monitoring to ensure the availability and reliability of SQL Server databases
- Optimize SQL Server database performance by analyzing query execution plans, implementing indexing strategies, and fine-tuning configuration settings
- Monitor and resolve database-related issues, such as performance bottlenecks, database errors, and data corruption
- Implement and enforce data security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and database auditing, to protect sensitive data
- Collaborate with development teams to support database-related activities, such as schema changes, deployments, and performance tuning

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Proven experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator with experience in Denodo
- Strong understanding of SQL Server database administration, performance tuning, and optimization
- Familiarity with MySQL and hands-on experience with DBeaver highly preferred
- Knowledge of DBT Cloud for database testing and transformations is highly preferred
- Client travel will be to Houston, TX or Denver, CO
The expected pay rate range for this contract assignment is $60 to $90 per hour. The exact pay rate will vary based on skills, experience, and location. This role is approximately 65-70% remote and 30-35% travel to the client as needed. Must be able to support the Central time zone.
