Tellers support the Teller Supervisor and/or Manager in providing world class client service, operational and audit excellence, while making appropriate referrals to the Banker, Manager or other lines of business as appropriate. Handles routine paying and receiving transactions, verifies amounts, examines checks for proper endorsement and enters into computer records, pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances. Responsible for handling and balancing cash drawer at the end of the shift and compares totaled amounts to computer generated proof sheet.
Required:
- Minimum GED or High School diploma
- Good interpersonal communication and computer skills; Ability to operate standard office equipment such as adding machines and PC's
- Must be able to work with other lines of business
- Must be able to lift 25lbs are required
Preferred:
- College degree or equivalent work experience
- Financial institution experience is preferred.
- 6 months previous cash handling experience
Specific Job Functions:
- Responsible for branch balancing procedures, can locate and reconcile discrepancies in teller cash drawer. Examines checks for proper endorsement and enters into computer records, pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances
- Cross sells, promotes, and explains other Fidelity services and products to customers
- Handles night depositor without posting function
- Handles check orders and ATM & Debit Card transactions
- Ensure quality audit reports by working closely with Teller Supervisor and/or Financial Center Leader
- Reports any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary. Participates with end-of-day balancing procedures
- Reports to a teller supervisor and/or Financial Center Leader for approvals when assistance is needed with transactions
- Provide customer assistance to service accounts and performs related duties as required to achieve banking office goals
- Provide customer service using effective telephone skills
- Maintains an organized and well-stocked teller window
- Complies with regulatory rules and regulations, evidenced through successful completion of training and demonstrated ability
- Performs other duties as appointed by management
