We are hiring a Shipping Supervisor. The Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for managing personnel and department for efficient and error free operation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, timeliness of shipments, daily material moves of finished goods from 2511 Daimler building and acceptable condition upon receipt. Analyzes performance of existing shipping and receiving systems (red dock only), evaluating and recommending new programs to improve distribution methods and implement cost reductions. Responsible to develop and improve Standard Operating Procedures as well as training materials.

Responsibilities:
- Able to appropriately work independently to accomplish the following:
- Develops and maintains with Manager Standard Operating Procedures, Shipping Manual and DTI’s required for departmental operations.
- Develops and maintains training materials required for departmental operations (example but not limited to; packaging of validated systems, forklift and barcode scanner equipment)
- Interview, select, and train warehouse and supervisory (the lead) personnel.
- Mentor and develop departmental personnel. Prepare staff for increased responsibility.
- Ensure that documented customer requirements for picking, packing and shipping are met.
- Manage department to meet all required performance standards including picking accuracy and on time shipments.
- Monitors departmental performance, and implements procedures within his/her responsibility for excellent service, better efficiency, cost reduction, and improved company reputation.
- Ensure that excellent support is provided to internal departments and customers, including complaint investigation and resolution.
- Manage all functions of finished goods logistics, inventory management, distribution and management of product inserts, COA and other various documents and maintaining compliance with required regulations.
- Support accurate stock levels of finished goods to meet production schedules, forecasts and customer delivery requirements.
- Support the cycle count process so accuracy levels are above 95% on a consistent basis and identifying root cause for any discrepancies.
- Direct the completion, organizing and maintenance of all required transactions, paperwork, reports, records and documentation that meet compliance standards.
- Demonstrate critical decision making skills and good judgment in all areas of traffic control
- Evaluate freight or inventory costs associated with transit times to ensure that costs are appropriate.
- Schedule or monitor air or ground pickup, delivery, or distribution of products or materials.
- Track and trace goods while they are in route to their destinations, expediting orders when necessary.
- Respond to customers' or shippers' questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services.
- Provide weekly reporting to Manager of daily number of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Closely monitor, maintain and report to I/T any barcode issues. Be proficient in all facets of barcode
Experience/ Education:
- BS or BA in distribution, supply chain, operations, logistics or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience with progressing degrees of responsibility
- 5 years of supervising personnel
- APICS certification desired
- Loading of ocean freight & air freight containers with knowledge of DOT and IATA regulations
- Strong quantitative skills, communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstration of strong leadership skills
- Knowledge of Import/Export regulations
- Excellent organizational skills
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements with emphasis on inventory control, transportation and Hazmat essentials
- Forklift certified
