What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Finance position at Gpac?
Here at gpac we are working with a wonderful nonprofit organization that is looking for a Director of Finance to join their diverse team! This is an on-site position in Irvine with the possibility to become hybrid down the line. This position would be reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and would be supervising the Accounting Manager as well as all aspects of accounting and finance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the annual budget development and forecasting
- General Ledger, Cost Accounting, and Accounting
- Provide budget and variance explanations to the board and staff
- Close books monthly, quarterly, and yearly
- Prepare account reconciliations
- Manage the external audits
- Provide full financial grant management
- Track grant funding and oversight of grant reporting
- Produce reports required for 990 tax reporting
- Cash management and cash requirements planning and forecasting
- Facilitate/manage debt
- Evaluate and monitor internal controls
- Attend Board, Executive, Strategic Planning, Finance and Audit committee meetings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
- 7 or more years of experience in accounting required
- Nonprofit finance experience preferred
- Extensive knowledge of cost center accounting is a must, Government grant experience is preferred
- Experience and ability to train staff
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry 25 pounds
- Maintain valid California Driver License and auto insurance
