Overview
FUNCTION: Under the direction of the VP of Operations, the General Manager is responsible to lead all construction, marketing/sales, community relations, and P&L activities within the Valnova project
REPORTING TO: VP of Operations
KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values;
- Direct and support the Area Manager, Construction in construction related activities for the project;
- Organize cross-functional work with planning, finance, engineers, sales and marketing, PR team members and other stakeholders (internal or external) to successfully execute annual business plan for the project;
- Successfully manage project P&L. This includes creating and maintaining project budgets, forecasting revenue, and cash flow analysis;
- Work alongside project manager through entitlement and planning process;
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements;
- Provide direction and support Valnova’s Community post land development activities, in developing annual budgets for HOA’s or other affiliated organizations.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills;
- Strong ability to prepare and critically analyze information to optimize project’s financial performance;
- Strategic thinking skills;
- Knowledge of construction management best practices including estimating and value engineering;
- Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science in business management, construction management, real estate development or related field;
- Ten years of progressive experience in the land development field including 5 years in project management
