What are the responsibilities and job description for the Feed Mill Operator position at HEARTLAND CO-OP?
Tends feed mill that grinds materials such as corn, SBM, ingredients for feed, and drugs, by performing the essential job duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adds a prescribed amount of corn, soybean meal, drugs, and feed ingredients for making desired feed.
- Monitors inventories to ensure proper ingredients are on hand for mixing. Minimizes excess inventory and out-of-date materials.
- Monitors feed grinding to ensure the quality of the final product is consistent and of high quality.
- Maintains and repairs feed equipment. Keeps feed grinding area clean, safe, and up to code.
- Coordinates loads to maximize efficiency and maintain customer service.
- Maintains the inventory of products including loading/unloading trucks and organizing the warehouse.
- Operates mill in a safe and responsible manner.
- Keep production records including products ordered, inventory records, production records, and billing.
- Maintain and record maintenance and housekeeping records in the appropriate logbooks.
- Certain branches/locations may require the employee to maintain a valid driver’s license and commercial insurability at all times and/or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), please see the requirements of this specific position below.
