What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Nanny position at Helpr?
Helpr is a care service platform that supports families in finding excellent full and part time primary and emergency (or backup) childcare providers, full and part time adult care providers/caregivers, and birth workers including doulas and Newborn Care Specialists.
*Please note - candidates will be hired by, work for, and paid directly by the hiring family*
We are currently looking for a Special Needs Nanny in Reidsville (30 mins. north of Greensboro).
Details are as follows:
- Schedule: Friday 3:15pm-6:15pm (mom is happy to extend the end time if candidate is available and would like extra hours!) and Saturday 7:30am-6pm (mom is flexible and will accept help anytime within this time period)
- Long-term care is needed - full time hours available during summer months (June 7 - August 28, if candidate is available - not a requirement to apply to this current part time position, though - can discuss in detail during interview)
- Children are 16 years and 15 yearsBoth girls have a genetic condition which requires special care. Must have experience and be comfortable with assisting all aspects of daily living, feeding via G-Tube, diapering, med administration (mom has meds prepared, but someone experienced and comfortable with administering via the G-Tube is ideal), bathing, etc.
- $18.25/hr - must be comfortable with being paid via direct deposit from the state (reportable income, taxes withheld)
- Duties will include excellent care, support with all daily living tasks (as mentioned above), supporting mobility needs, interacting with the children, laundry, housekeeping, meal preparation, possible transportation needs (the family does have a wheelchair van designated for the girls’, but candidate must be comfortable driving the vehicle - past experience is a plus). Must be okay with high noise environments (one daughter loves playing the piano). Must be willing to track care, activities, meds, etc., and communicate with the family and other care provider to support continuity of care and smooth changeover.
- Must be comfortable with the family’s 2 cats.
Ideal candidates for the Special Needs Nanny in Reidsville will meet the following requirements:
- Authorized to work in the United States
- 2 years of paid, professional special needs experience
- CPR certified or willing to become certified
- Has reliable means of transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Willing to wear a mask - Everyone in the home is fully COVID vaccinated and they prefer their new nanny to be, as well. Open to an unvaccinated provider, but MUST be willing to wear a mask.
- Willing to be on a payroll system through the state
- Able to clear background, motor vehicle, and social media checks
- Able to provide 2 professional special needs-related references
