Job Description-
Position Summary:
Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) Programming focuses on translating computer-aided design (CAD) models into a series of commands that control the movements of machine tools, for grinding, milling and turning operations, including Importing CAD models or G-code template programs into CNC programming software to define the dimensions and features of the part to be produced. Analyzing CAD models or engineering specifications to determine the appropriate tools and most efficient sequence of tool operations. Tuning the CAD file or G-code to optimize machine tool operations/minimize waste and loading the instructions into the machine tool control system. May also create custom G-code programs using macro programming.
Work You'll Do:
- Programming of 4 and 5 axis machining centers. Working directly with Engineering and shop floor personnel to ensure all products meet specification.
- Write and optimize CNC programs and standards to create complex parts on 4 and 5 axis machining centers.
- Assist with development and maintain work holding fixtures.
- Develop and maintain cutting tools for the process.
- Work with Engineering, Production, and Quality Departments to ensure smooth process flow.
- Responsible for selecting and developing proper machining parameters.
- Organize and maintain data associated with the manufactured part.
- Perform special assignments and other related tasks as required.
Team:
Will be joining a team of 7, 3 manufacturing engineers, 2 manufacturing techs, and 2 programmers.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 5-year practical experience in CNC programming in a machining environment.
Proficient in blueprint reading.
Proficient with CAM software.
Proficient G-code programming.
Demonstrate a professional and positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in using Feature CAM and SolidWorks.
Knowledge GD&T
CMM programming.
G-code programs using macro programming.
