Graphic Designer

Overview

This is a customer facing, technical and artistic position that is responsible for collaborating with the Lottery as well as IGT software developers, the IGT Software Quality Assurance Manager, IGT Marketing, and other account team members to develop, design and release robust interactive content for digital signs. Content will be published on a proprietary terminal system and displayed at retail locations across the state using dedicated LCD screens. Multimedia content (including static and animated graphics) for digital signage displays in the retail environment. Will support day-to-day operational graphical needs. Must live near Schenectady, NY.

Responsibilities

• Develops and/or participates in development of all design concepts for digital signage displays based on the needs of the lottery's targeted sales efforts and creative assignment
• Adapts and packages the content to perform effectively within the targeted environment (considering both hardware performance and network size constraints)
• Ensures that all work is delivered - on time and on strategy and within standards
• Unit test the content on the targeted hardware to ensure accurate performance
• Work with the operations and quality assurance teams, coordinate the system testing and delivery of content into the production environment
• Works effectively and cooperatively with various disciplines, including the marketing, creative, software development, and business teams
• Keeps abreast of how to effectively create content for digital signage environments, and makes suggestions on ways to improve processes and technology
• Collaborates on a regular basis with teams who work on digital signage in other locations, including members of the creative and marketing teams, to share ideas and participate in design review sessions
• Works well within team environment including taking feedback well and learning from past experience
• Development of retail digital signage animations
• Up to 14,000 diverse retail locations with advertising displays.
• Content development under direction of the New York State Lottery within a given timeframe and technical requirements. Content must be geared for the specific needs of the retail environment.
• Regular meetings with site management team. Periodic meetings with corporate marketing and content development teams.
• Regular meetings with Lottery management and creative team.
• Create field ready versions of the signage content.
• Create wireframes, protoypes and design mockups to support other teams

Qualifications

• BA/BFA in Game Design, Software Development or equivalent in the field
• Graphic Design BA Degree, or equivalent
• Web Design and Ui/Ux Design knowledge
• A minimum of three years of sales/marketing design and multimedia development experience

Must show proficiency in the following for digital signage Content Development and Deployment:

• Adobe Creative Suite
  • Photoshop
  • Illustrator
  • After Effects
  • Animate
• HTML/CSS/Javascript development and animation
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux systems
• XML parsing
• Action Script 2/3 knowledge a plus
• Microsoft Office

Other Skills

Comfortable working in deadline-intensive corporate environment; ability to address and effectively negotiate design changes. Must be self-motivated and able to handle simultaneous projects. Must possess very strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be highly effective at translating requirements into written and graphical specifications. Must be process-driven, able to design, follow and document test plans and procedures. Strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate with team members. Each interview candidate will be asked to bring a portfolio of their creative design work and animation skills.
