The Information Technology (IT) function at Jaguar Land Rover North America is working jointly with our global headquarters to evolve the delivery of services, responses and innovations that meets the demands of the industry, our customer and our digital employees. Part of the IT team based in our new U.S. Headquarters in Mahwah, New Jersey, the IT Product Lead will be accountable for evolving the IT capability within JLR North America IT function, reporting directly to an IT Product Manager.
You will act as a custodian of their product roadmaps working closely with relevant customers, business partners & IT stakeholders to define and support definition of business requirements, features and capabilities, investment plans and early concept and feasibility investigations. You will also own a defined business area(s) / product(s) from idea to operate and ensure that through the use of technology, they drive value by increasing sales, maximizing profits, and improving internal and external customer satisfaction. In addition, you will be responsible for building IT capabilities through applying the right culture, strategic thinking, ways of working, collaborative tools and creating a digital user and customer experience.
What You will be Doing:

  • Develop a strong understanding o our business goals and key performance metrics;
  • Become an expert on business processes and the use of technology within those processes;
  • Maintenance, communication and submission of a year on year Product Roadmap and Investment Plan for your given IT area(s), feeds in to the overall IT Strategy;
  • Creation and management of a product backlog containing IT features and capabilities required to support business initiatives;
  • Acting as the IT owner for assigned products, assuring the project delivery realises the required business outcome.
  • Early concept development and project requirements shaping;
  • Relationship building and stakeholder engagement within leadership of relevant business & IT areas;
  • Flawless delivery on promises and commitments;
  • Status Reporting, producing project documents, supporting testing and deployment and support of projects and changes.
  • Perform other duties as required

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience;
  • Great understanding of IT principles, technologies, practices and the software delivery lifecycle;
  • 5 years of previous experience acting as either an IT business analyst, product owner / analyst, financial analyst, project manager, developer or project analyst;
  • Knowledge of working with various cross function business areas;
  • Have worked on, run or been a significant part of IT project delivery (at least 3 projects) including experience with Agile project delivery;
  • Strong communication (written & oral), ability to influence positively;
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Powerpoint, Word, Excel);
  • Problem solving skills are essential;
  • Must have strong business acumen and judgment, with the confidence to contribute effectively when operating at the highest level within JLR;
  • Can manage and select IT vendors - understands value and ability to negotiate;
  • Must be a self-starter, with the ability to drive programs forward on time and on budget; make decisions;
  • Can build a network: develops multiple relationships with Global IT colleagues, vendors and external networks to understand Global and other market technology initiatives and priorities;
  • Strong Team Player, able to connect with people and is collaborative;
  • Is passionate about technology and the automotive industry;
  • Ability to travel minimally (approximately 10% of the time) within North America;
  • Automotive exposure/experience a plus;
  • Experience with the delivery and/or support of SAP technologies a plus;
  • Can bring new thinking from a different Industry, company startup or other diverse background;
  • Experience of working within a software vendor or consultancy.
