Job Title: Shift Leader (Afternoon Shift 3:30PM-11:30PM)
Department: Operations Team
Reports To: Director of Operations
Position Summary:
The Shift Leader provides day-to-day leadership of the production staff, coordinating the activities and production of direct staff to ensure the smooth running of the production process. This position will collaboratively work with Kris-Tech production team. The Shift Leader will make certain that all products are produced to the specified specifications and that target and deadlines are met to achieve the orders. They will direct all staff to comply with the company’s Health and Safety procedures
Job Responsibilities:
- Open building at start of the work week and close building at end of the work week.
- Attend bi-weekly shift leader meetings with Production Manager
- Discuss and review agenda sheet
- Discuss team culture and change
- Review any assigned reading material
- Conduct Pre and Post Shift Change Meetings with the corresponding Shift Leader. These meetings will take place 15 minutes before the start of your shift and 15 minutes after your shift ends.

- Check for any non-conforming material making sure they are in quality area
- Create a check list of responsibilities.
- Communicate all absentees and record any individuals that were late or left early.
- Identify any issues and if needed determine who to call for support.
- If the problem is a maintenance issue that can simply be fixed by an operator have them fix the issue. Be sure to see it through until the issue has been resolved and when the maintenance team comes in notify them of the repairs performed.
- If the machine will be down for an extended period assign employee new job task.
- Be the point of contact for any accident or injuries that occur on your shift:
- Identify the accident / affected employees and determine if emergency personnel need to be called for assistance and call them.
- Jason /Chuck and Dave must be notified of all accidents resulting in injuries at time of incident.
- Make sure employee takes the healthcare form to the ER / Clinic at time of incident. Forms are located inside the glass case for the 5s board in re-spool room.
- Attend periodic Supervisor Training classes:
- These classes will be paid for by Kris-Tech and you will receive notice a week in advance prior to the class.
- Enforce the following policies and any future polices Kris-Tech rolls out:
- Smoking policy, lunch breaks and PPE for required work areas.
- Address any employees on your shift that are not following the policies and document your conversation.
- After your third conversation with an employee regarding any policy issues communicate this to the Production Team Leader further discipline. There will be a verbal warning for first offense, second offense a written warning and third the employee will be sent home.
- Document and record all instances of absenteeism, production issues, personnel issues, insubordination issues, etc. in the log book provided by Kris-Tech.
- Communicate any severe and urgent issues immediately to the Production Team Manager.
- Review production schedules.
- Make sure extruders have materials needed to complete job.
- Supply needed materials to extruders and Large Spool Operators.
- Consolidate shorts-scrap what is not needed and weld what is needed.
- Today/Tomorrow orders refer to Aaron West for material needed
- Shift Leaders to restock, spools, reels and boxes in respool room

- Minimum of 3 years of production management experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
