Job Summary: As a Senior Accountant you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial reporting and operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills, be adept at reconciliations, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. The primary responsibilities include the month-end closing process, reduce time to close, setting up reconciliations and streamlining financial processes. This person should be a self-starter and independent thinker.
Essentials Functions:

Lead month-end close process with focus on accuracy, organization, and timeliness.

Perform reconciliations for various accounts, including inventory, vendor credits, customer deposits and cash.
*
Prepare and record journal entries.
*
Implement and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
*
Proactivity identifies areas for improvements and implement solutions to reduce time to close
*
Oversee and reconcile inventory accounts to ensure accuracy.
*
Collaborate with operations to optimize inventory processes, cycle counts and minimize discrepancies.
*
Assist the accounts payables team with managing vendor credit reconciliation and processing on a timely basis.
*
Manage customer deposits and work with operations to fill orders to reduce lead time.
*
Support the stores operations team.
*
Assists with Ad Hoc special projects and reports as required.
o Analytical approach to problems with high regard for detail and accuracy
o Proficient with excel to assist with spreadsheet reporting, combining excel spreadsheets etc
Qualifications:
*
Experience in retail industry highly preferred.
*
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent.
*
CPA certification (a plus)
*
Knowledge of Storis ERP system (a plus)
*
Proven experience as a Senior Accountant
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
*
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, work independently and collaborate across operations teams
*
