What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Collector position at LHH?
Location: Onsite in Phoenix, AZ 85015 area
Monday through Friday | 7am – 4pm
Compensation will range between $21-$24 per hour, dependent on experience.
5 years or more of RECENT Medical Insurance and Patient Collections experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Working Medical insurance and patient collections from Commercial and Medicaid payers, inbound and outbound calling
- Review aging reports and unpaid claims while monitoring activity, rebill claims as needed
- Discuss outstanding balances, options available, set up payment plans and review negotiations
- Contact insurances to follow up on payments and discuss resolution
- Responding timely to claims denials, exceptions, or exclusions
- Follow up on claims that are outstanding and working both denials and appeals
- Consistently staying up to date with changes in Medicare, Medicaid, and Private insurances
- Additional medical collections duties as needed or assigned
- High school diploma
- REQUIRED – 5 or more years of recent experience in Medical Insurance AND Patient Collections
- Heavy experience in Medicaid/Medicare (any states)
- Knowledge of working medical claims and reimbursements
- Familiar with medical terminology with ability to analyze data efficiently
- Ability to effectively and efficiently multi-task
- Ability to work individually and collaboratively
- Highly detailed and sense of urgency
- Strong customer service skills while being highly professional
