What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator position at LNESC?
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Center Director, the Upward Bound Coordinator provides educational services to qualifying students. This role includes coordination of activities and services related to program objectives. Provides leadership and support for students to achieve their academic goals and attend post-secondary education.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Recruit and retain at least 60 participants per program each year;
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the administration, faculty and staff at assigned schools, and community partners;
- Develop strong relationships with students and families from assigned high schools;
- Document program activities and maintain documentation of services in electronic database and participant files;
- Oversee the collection of quantitative and qualitative educational data related to program objectives to assist in the preparation and submission of the Annual Performance Report;
- Develop and implement components of the program including cultural, social and academic enrichment activities.
- Provide participants with academic, college, and career guidance including resources and information
- Monitor key performance indicators of participants through report card and transcript reviews;
- Monitors and implements individual and group academic workshops
- Coordinate events such including but not limited to parent and student interviews, program orientation sessions, senior night, college signing day, end of summer celebration, (locating space, transportation logistics and resources)
- Work closely with tutors to establish individualized and appropriate academic support plans and services
- Design and coordinate Saturday sessions which may include but not limited to: study skills, ACT preparation, community service, financial literacy, and cultural enrichment opportunities;

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional computer skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent trouble shooting skills, critical thinking and analytical skills. Strong organizational and time management, public speaking skills. Willingness and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; experience working with youth preferred; experience overcoming barriers similar to those confronting the target population preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish), Valid NM driver’s license, reliable transportation. Must pass background check.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
