Full Job Description
We are a privately owned agriculture retail company that has been in business in central Iowa for 30 years. We sell and service fertilizer, chemicals, seed, feed and lawn care. We have a great family and team atmosphere and are looking for the right candidate to join our company.
Experience/Education Requirements
- Accounting/Business Degree
- 4-5 year experience minimum
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks
- Agvance is a plus
- Understanding of the ag industry
Job Requirements
- Excellent communicator with solid interpersonal skills, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. This includes keeping project work moving while also consistently meeting month-end reporting deadlines.
- General knowledge of accounting standards and procedures, and the ability to ensure fully functioning and accurate accounting processes.
- Ability to input and understand a variety of operational and financial information.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality related to all duties and responsibilities.
- Overall office supply management
Accounts Receivable & Payables
- Process new customer credit applications, including requesting credit bureau reports, as well as trade and bank reference requests. Set-up approved new customers in our system.
- Processing of customer invoices on a daily basis.
- Review and apply daily cash receipts to customer accounts.
- Monthly generation and distribution of customer statements.
- Communication with customers to assist with any questions, ensure timely payment and follow-up on any issues.
General accounting and month-end
- Prepare and process month end close transactions in support of several business units.
- Assist with the month-end inventory close process as well as with annual physical inventory process.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations identifying and resolving issues to be addressed.
- Assist with annual audit process by providing documentation and answering questions as needed.
- Daily task of logging employee credit card expenses
- Preparing and submitted bank deposits
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
